The Hungarian rights to Leena Lehtolainen’s Maria Kallio series debut Ensimmäinen murhani (My First Murder) have been acquired by Animus Kiadó. The publisher plans to release the title in Spring 2012, making Hungary the 21st Leena Lehtolainen territory!
Elina Ahlback Literary Agency has successfully sold Lehtolainen’s rights since March 2010. In Germany and France Leena Lehtolainen’s position on the crime fiction market has already been stabilised with new titles coming out frequently. Spanish, Russian and Israeli publishers are soon publishing their editions to the respective markets. Other recent Lehtolainen deals have been made with Scandinavian and Polish publishing houses.
Leena Lehtolainen’s next book, Oikeuden jalopeura (The Lion of Justice) will be published in Finland by Tammi Publishers in August 2011.
